NexR is one of the most specialized companies for software engineering and computing platforms in Korea. Our main focuses are cloud computing and large-scale data processing based on Hadoop. We develops base platforms underneath and makes them as services with organizing various business cases.
Cloud computing is receiving attentions for its potential to change computing paradigm and related businesses. It is a computing model called pay-as-you-go which means individuals and companies does not maintain their own IT resources but rent and pay as they need and use. Also it's an as-a-service model which means it can be operated programtically without management by human, so new ideas and services can emerge easier. NexR has been researched underlying base technologies of cloud computing such as distributed systems, virtualization even before the term is defined. As the result, we are at the top of cloud computing area in Korea.
Another main axis of NexR is a technology to find valuable intelligence from massive digital data that is being explosively increased by storing and processing them efficiently. There are immense data created from diverse fields beyond number, such as enterprise computing environments including CRM, ERP and SCM, as well as web, multimedia, bio, maps and sensors. However, effective solutions to store and process those massive data have been lacked. We had to discard those valuable data.
We think that these data will make future values and competitive power. The ultimate vision of NexR is to collect intelligence from massive-scale data which is impossible for a person to do. We have accumulated knowledges and know-hows in this area from the beginning of NexR. We are proud to have the top-level specialties about Hadoop, an open source large-scale data processing platform.
The two area mentioned above, cloud computing and large-scale data systems, will be merged and evolve to data clouds ultimately. With the firm future vision, we strive for developing and researching continuousely now and forever, and we are confident that NexR will become the industry leader in the near future.
